World's Largest Piano Lesson announces Moderated Chat
World Wide Web | August 2, 2005
"How did you hear about it" became the international behind-the-scenes chatter as piano aficionados from around the world gathered for the first ever live piano chat held on July 18 and presented by the producers of The World's Largest Piano Lesson. On that evening several hundred people from locales that included Moscow and Anchorage, Alaska logged on to the website www.masterartists.com to experience a new kind of musical conversation over the Internet. Moderated by virtuoso pianist Richard Bosworth, that 30-minute July piano chat gave participants an inside look into the world of a concert performer and a chance to meet an executive from Moog Music to learn about their influence on classical music performance and recordings. "In those 30 minutes a true international piano community was born," affirmed Deborah L. Esayian, executive producer of The World's Largest Piano Lesson (WLPL). Esayian, a vice-president of Emmis Interactive, the company who revolutionized the merge of radio and content over the Internet , and Mr. Bosworth together created and head up the technical and artistic team behind WLPL, slated to be the first interactive, multi-media piano master class to debut this October. The second of the series of monthly piano chats taking place on Monday, August 8th @ 8:30pm EST/ 7:30pm CT/ 6:30pm MT/ 5:30pm PT, will feature Bosworth discussing his experiences performing on different pianos throughout the years. His special guest will be Sally Phillips, the United States Director from C. Bechstein AG, makers of the world class Bechstein Piano. Phillips will provide much insight into the instruments themselves and what makes each one unique and special. In addition to providing unusual access to performers, experts and technicians in the musical field, this series of piano chats help to form the nexus of the virtual online community that will participate in The World's Largest Piano Lesson Presents: Preparing for Solo Performance, a multi-media presentation comprising instruction and performance and headlined by concert pianist Richard Bosworth. Bosworth's live performance in New York City on the evening of October 9th will be filmed before a live audience. One week later, on October 16th, that performance will form the basis of an elegant, interactive Webimentary ™ of a live master class that uses internet streaming, MIDI technology and interactive Q&A to provide an exclusive and unique program to a worldwide audience of piano aficionados. Anyone with access to a computer can sign up for the WLPL piano chats, which are free. Those who wish to ensure their participation in Preparing for Solo Performance in October should go to www.masterartists.com. Visitors to this website will be able to sign up for the August 8th piano chat, and receive information about how to purchase a ticket for the October 9th event at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, to register to participate in the Internet Webimentary™ on October 16th, to order the DVD, and for free access privileges to the Piano_Talk™ Online Community. |
