Exponentia and TELUS Mobility Announce PlayAction, a First in Live Mobile Games for the 2005 TELUS Skins Game
Vancouver, BC | June 30, 2005

Exponentia and TELUS Mobility today announced that fans of the TELUS Skins Game will be able to play along with the event via text messaging on their TELUS Mobility wireless phone. PlayAction, developed by Vancouver-based Exponentia, allows fans wherever they are - at home, at the sports bar, or at the event - to predict the outcome of every hole of the tournament, winning points and competing live for a set of Cobra golf clubs.

What makes TELUS Skins PlayAction so unique is its level of integration with the TV broadcast. PlayAction graphics announcing each pick will appear on TV during each hole. The on-air commentators will use the different picks and the live fan results as fodder for their analysis and banter as the players proceed along the course.

To play, TELUS Mobility clients simply register for the game by texting 'SKINS' to GOLF (4653). Once registered, participants create a unique username for the leaderboard. During the game, players will receive a pick on their phone in advance of each hole. Sample picks include "Who will have the long drive on the next hole?" or "Which player will be closest to the pin?"

Points are awarded for correct predictions, and the player that racks up the most points over the two-day tournament will have a chance to win the grand prize: A full set of Cobra golf clubs and a TELUS Skins prize pack, valued at approximately $1,600. In addition, individual Cobra golf clubs will be given away on key signature holes. For example, players answering the long drive question will have a chance to win a Cobra driver.

"Exponentia is excited to be working with TELUS Mobility and the TELUS Skins Game. The wireless phone is the perfect device for live sports interactivity. People carry their wireless phones with them wherever they are, just as they carry around their love of their favourite sport," said Andrew Gregory, Principal at Exponentia. "Our objective is to PlayAction-enable all live sports wherever in the world they occur."

"TELUS Mobility is pleased to partner with Exponentia to showcase the innovation and excitement that wireless can bring to sporting events," said Neil Cusati, TELUS Mobility's Vice President of Western Canada. "Now TELUS Mobility clients and golf fans alike can enjoy live interaction with the TELUS Skins Game from wherever they may be."

The TELUS Skins Game will be held July 4 and 5 at Nicklaus North Golf Course in Whistler, B.C., and will be broadcast live on TSN. To learn more about the TELUS Skins Game, visit telusskins.com.
